Material Designer II – Training Footwear Location: Beaverton, OR (Onsite – No relocation) Duration: 6 Months Contract (Approx. 29 Weeks) About the Role We are looking for an

Intermediate Material Designer

to join a dynamic

Training Footwear & Apparel Expression Design team . In this role, you will help bring innovative material concepts to life by executing seasonal design projects aligned with creative direction and product briefs.

Key Responsibilities

Create original material designs or refresh existing products under design leadership guidance

Execute end-to-end creative processes including material briefs, tech pack creation, development, and factory communication

Translate design concepts into production-ready solutions with precision

Participate in presentations of design concepts to internal and external stakeholders

Collaborate cross-functionally with design, development, and merchandising teams

Incorporate feedback and continuously refine design outputs

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in

Performance Footwear Materials Design

Strong portfolio (must include real-world / market-released products)

Experience working on seasonal and mini collections

Strong understanding of the design and creative process

Proficiency in

Adobe Creative Suite

Ability to translate material concepts from simple to complex executions

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (BFA/BA/MA/MFA) or equivalent experience

Experience with performance materials (foams, mesh, TPU, synthetics, prints, etc.)

Exposure to athlete insights / focus groups

Familiarity with material libraries and development processes

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Design, Color, Product, Development)

Knowledge of advanced digital tools / 3D design
