Overview
Zibby Media is hiring a Publicity & Events Associate/Manager : a full-time position, working primarily in the NYC office, reporting to Zibby Media’s VP of Marketing and the Director of Events.
The ideal candidate is a college graduate with a minimum of 2-4 years previous experience in publicity and events who has demonstrated excellent communication, detail-orientation, organization, and interpersonal skills. This is an excellent opportunity in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing company.
Key responsibilities
Planning and executing author tour events and festivals: securing venues, coordinating logistics, and managing schedules for author tours and appearances.
Helping to coordinate and execute author retreats, Totally Booked Live events, and other events across Zibby Media brand verticals.
Contributing to the development of media pitches and press releases for books and events.
Liaising with key media contacts to secure coverage for author tours and Zibby Media events.
Promoting author appearances and Zibby Media events to drive attendance and media attention.
Acting as a key contact for authors, assisting with needs during in-person or virtual appearances and traveling for author tours and events as needed.
Updating detailed media schedules, budgets, and internal campaign tracking systems.
Collaborating closely with marketing, publicity, sales, and event teams to align on campaign efforts.
Required general skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Google applications (Docs, Forms, etc.) and MS Office Suite (Excel / V Lookup, Word, PowerPoint); experience working in Canva, a plus.
Strong media contacts and proven success securing press coverage.
Experience planning and executing in-person and virtual events.
Passion for books, authors, and the publishing industry.
Strong attention to detail with proven ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, complete projects on time, prioritize, and ensure work accuracy through attention to detail.
Be a team player, eager to provide support for multiple projects and for the company’s evolving priorities. Collaborate with others on a team that has a flexible, entrepreneurial mindset.
Hiring Salary: $60-75k
This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, geographic location, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
