Job Summary:
Gardener responsibilities include monitoring the health of all plants and green spaces, watering and feeding plants, trimming trees, shrubs and walkways/parking lots, and keeping them clear of debris and litter. Planting annuals/perennials and weeding gardens.
Responsibilities:
Work with Director Horticulture
Keep all gardens free of all weeds
Pruning trees and shrubs
Transplanting and planting gardens
Bulb planting in fall
Raking, edging, mulching and deadheading gardens
Planting annuals
Perform all miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
License
Be able to lift 35 lbs.
Must be at least 16 years old
Basic knowledge of plants
Ability to self‑motivate with minimal supervision
High school degree or GED
Physical Requirements:
Most work tasks are performed outdoors. Position requires standing, walking, squatting, digging, planting, and mulching most of the working day. Requires repetitive motions, bending, climbing and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
