Position: Director of Accounting – Revenue & Billing
Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 base + bonus
Work Model: Hybrid | Minneapolis, MN
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of revenue accounting as the Director of Accounting – Revenue & Billing, ensuring ASC 606 compliance, accurate reporting, and audit readiness.
- Manage end-to-end billing operations, including invoicing accuracy, system integrations, customer communications, and dispute resolution.
- Direct accounts receivable operations, including credit management, collections strategy, and aging analysis.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy across revenue and billing workflows.
- Collaborate with Sales Ops, Legal, Product, and FP&A teams to ensure contract compliance and operational alignment.
- Supervise, coach, and develop team members to drive performance and engagement.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis on revenue trends, billing metrics, and collection performance to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years focused on revenue recognition, billing, or SaaS accounting.
- Proven ability to lead teams of 10+ professionals.
- In-depth understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles.
- Experience with billing platforms and ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Prior experience with public company or IPO readiness is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
