TITLE: Director Type I Child-Care Center
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and Development, OR
- Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in a field other than Early Childhood Education and Development, including a degree in pastoral care and counseling, plus twelve (12) clock hours of child development training OR
- Associate degree in a field other than Early Childhood Education and Development, plus twelve (12) clock hours of child development training and two (2) years of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in:
- A school-based program following Department of Education guidelines, OR
- An early childhood development program, such as Head Start, OR
- A licensed or certified child care program, OR
- Director's Credential in Early Childhood Development or Child development associate, plus one (1) year of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in :
- A school-based program following Department of Education guidelines, OR
- An early childhood development program, such as Head Start, OR
- A licensed or certified child care program
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
JOB GOAL: Plan, organize and direct center activities consistent with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services Department for Community Based Services Protection and Permanency
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend 12 hours of Early Childhood Development Training per year
- Keep the principal informed of the Center's activities and issues
- Supervise, monitor and evaluate performance of Center staff
- Develop a daily and weekly schedule including instructional units of study, physical activity, rest time, nourishment time and recreation
- Purchase, inventory, store and maintain supplies and equipment for the Center
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with employees, preschool children, students and parents
- Provide work direction and guidance to employees and volunteers
- Assume responsibility for safety in the school area and of the enrollees and students
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, enrollees, parents and employee
- Lift equipment and children weighing up to 50 pounds
- Plan and supervise emergency drills and procedures
- Provide for the health, safety and comfort of each child
- Conduct, manage and document in writing staff meetings
- Ensure compliance with 922 KAR 2:090, 2:120 and 2:110
- Maintain all records related to the Center including immunization and safety records
- Organize special events such as applicable
- Perform related duties as assigned by principal/director
