The Opportunity
The Global Asset Integrity & Lifecycle Lead is essential in developing and managing a strategy focused on the effectiveness and safety of critical assets. This role oversees the entire asset lifecycle, from design and commissioning to maintenance and decommissioning, ensuring compliance with global standards while prioritizing cost‑effectiveness.
Collaboration with regional teams, engineering, operational units, maintenance crews, and digital technology specialists enhances asset performance and reduces risks. This collective effort ensures that assets meet current demands and are prepared for future challenges.
The Role
Strategy & Governance:
- Develop a global strategy for asset integrity and lifecycle management, with clear standards and governance for effective oversight.
- Implement lifecycle risk management policies across all asset stages—design, inspection, maintenance, and end‑of‑life—to mitigate risks and enhance performance.
- Ensure compliance with global regulations and industry standards while integrating practices into safety management systems to foster a culture of safety.
- Conduct maturity assessments of asset integrity and reliability, creating continuous improvement roadmaps for enhancing these areas over time.
Performance & Reliability Optimization:
- Establish comprehensive global KPI frameworks that specifically focus on three critical areas: availability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance.
- These frameworks will serve as a foundation for measuring and enhancing asset management effectiveness across the organization.
- Conduct thorough benchmarking of asset performance on a global scale to identify areas of improvement.
- Facilitate the widespread adoption of industry best practices across different business units, ensuring all teams are aligned and working towards optimizing asset efficiency and reliability.
Compliance, Risk & Assurance:
- Ensure that all operations are fully compliant with relevant global regulatory requirements, industry standards such as ISO 55000, API, and ASME, and internal company policies governing asset integrity and lifecycle management.
- Take charge of comprehensive risk assessment processes, including hazard studies, FMEA, and integrity risk reviews to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Support internal and external audits focused on asset integrity and lifecycle management, ensuring all findings are documented and addressed in accordance with best practices and compliance mandates.
Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with regional operations, engineering, HSE, supply chain, project engineering, and finance for cohesive lifecycle planning of assets.
- Lead global and regional asset integrity teams, fostering a culture of safety and reliability in all activities.
- Represent asset integrity in corporate risk committees and project evaluations, ensuring our priorities are integrated into strategic decisions.
Asset Lifecycle Management:
- Manage the planning of asset lifecycles from acquisition to decommissioning.
- Oversee commissioning of new assets, optimize performance, extend life of existing assets, and ensure safe decommissioning.
- Implement standardized methods for condition assessments, life‑extension studies, and asset classification to evaluate risks and opportunities accurately.
- Ensure capital planning includes lifecycle cost analysis (LCCA) for informed financial decisions, focusing on long‑term reliability and sustainability.
Digital Transformation & Data Management:
- Drive adoption of digital tools such as APM, CMMS/EAM platforms, predictive analytics, and IoT monitoring.
- Oversee global asset data standards, taxonomy, and data governance.
- Partner with analytics teams to implement predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and digital integrity models.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Structural, or related).
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in asset integrity, reliability engineering, or lifecycle management.
- Extensive experience managing globally distributed teams and influencing senior stakeholders in complex organizations.
- Governance and strategic portfolio management aligned with organizational goals.
- Strong background in developing and implementing asset management strategies and digital asset management systems tailored to operational and strategic needs.
- Expertise in asset integrity, RBI, RCM, LCCA, reliability analysis, and maintenance optimization.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional leadership.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Expertise in GMP
on‑GMP utilities and facilities related to pharmaceutical production. - Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean principles is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with proactive problem‑solving and systems thinking.
- Innovation leadership, data‑driven decision making, change leadership, cross‑cultural collaboration, executive communication, financial acumen.
