Description Artheon is seeking a strategic Director of Structures to lead our structural engineering practice within our infrastructure business. Artheon brings together several established consulting engineering firms including Churchill Consulting Engineers, CME Associates, and Naik Consulting Group, forming a collaborative organization of more than 600 professionals delivering complex infrastructure solutions across transportation, utilities, and public works.
This role will be responsible for driving technical excellence, leading high-performing teams, and delivering complex structural projects that support critical transportation and infrastructure systems.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will help shape the strategic direction of the structures practice, strengthen client relationships, and position the firm for continued growth across priority markets.
Responsibilities Leadership and Practice Growth
Lead and grow a multidisciplinary structural engineering team across major infrastructure markets
Provide strategic direction, resource planning, and operational leadership for the structures group
Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Project Delivery
Oversee the delivery of complex structural design projects including bridges, transit systems, tunnels, and major public infrastructure
Ensure alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
Serve as a senior technical leader and trusted advisor on key pursuits and projects
Client Engagement
Develop and maintain strong relationships with public agencies and key clients
Support major pursuits, proposals, and interviews, contributing to win strategies
Represent the firm as a technical leader in the marketplace
Technical Excellence
Drive innovation in structural design, materials, and delivery methods
Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (AASHTO, ACI, AISC, local agency requirements
Stay current with industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license strongly preferred
15+ years of structural engineering experience, including leadership of teams and complex projects
Extensive experience with NJDOT, NJTA, and/or other major transportation agencies
Demonstrated success delivering large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects
Strong knowledge of structural design standards and regulatory requirements
Proven ability in client management, project delivery, and business development
Experience working with public agencies and alternative delivery methods (DB, CM/GC, P3) is a plus
