The

Associate Director, Human Resources

provides senior‑level operational leadership for the Spokane pharmaceutical manufacturing site, with direct accountability for

HR Business Partnering, Employee Relations, and Organizational Change Management (OCM).

Operating in a

24/7, FDA‑regulated manufacturing environment , this role ensures disciplined execution of HR programs, early risk identification, consistent application of employment practices, and strong manager capability across both hourly and salaried populations. Acting as a key advisor to site leadership and a deputy to the Sr. Director of HR, the role balances

strategic partnership with operational rigor , ensuring the HR function effectively supports safety, compliance, productivity, and employee engagement.

HR Business Partner Leadership

Lead and oversee the HRBP team supporting manufacturing, quality, technical services, supply chain, and site support functions.

Ensure HRBPs and Generalists provide consistent, high‑quality guidance to leaders on performance management, workforce planning, talent decisions, and organizational effectiveness.

Translate business and operational priorities into actionable HR strategies that support site goals and production requirements.

Employee Relations & Risk Management

Own site-level

Employee Relations strategy and execution , ensuring timely, consistent, and legally defensible handling of employee concerns, investigations, and corrective actions.

Provide senior‑level oversight of complex ER cases involving hourly manufacturing employees, leaders, and sensitive workforce issues.

Strengthen

early risk identification and manager capability , reducing escalation and ensuring appropriate application of company policy and employment law.

Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, and EHS to manage risk in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Organizational Change Management (OCM)

Lead the OCM function for the Spokane site, supporting organizational changes tied to growth, transformation, process improvement, and capability shifts.

Ensure change impacts to manufacturing operations, shift teams, and support functions are proactively assessed and mitigated.

Partner with Operations and site leadership to embed change discipline into execution plans and leadership behaviors.

Manufacturing Workforce Enablement

Ensure HR practices are designed to support a mixed hourly and salaried workforce , operating across multiple shifts.

Align HR execution with operational realities including production schedules, safety requirements, training qualification needs, and compliance obligations.

Support site leaders in building accountability, engagement, and productivity across frontline and leadership populations.

Leadership & Team Development

Directly lead, coach, and develop HRBP, ER, and OCM leaders, reinforcing clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.

Build bench strength and succession within the HR function, ensuring continuity and readiness.

Foster collaboration across HR sub‑functions to deliver a unified and effective employee experience.

Strategic Partnership & Governance

Serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership on workforce decisions, organizational design, and people‑related risks.

Support the Director of HR in executing site and enterprise HR priorities, acting as second‑in‑command as needed.

Ensure HR programs, practices, and decisions align with corporate policies, legal requirements, and internal governance standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Master’s degree in HR, Business, or related discipline desired.

10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior HRBP or HR leadership roles.

Demonstrated experience leading HR strategy and teams in a manufacturing or operations intensive environment.

Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment law and ER practices.

Proven ability to partner effectively with executive leaders and navigate complex organizational dynamics.

Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or FDA‑regulated manufacturing organizations preferred.

Experience leading or partnering closely with OCM initiatives tied to operational change preferred.

Location: Spokane, WA — On Site, Full‑Time

Shift:

Monday‑Friday 8:00‑4:30 pm PST

Hiring Wage: $130,600‑$174,100 + 15% annual bonus , with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
