
Freelance- Technical Designer (Underwear)

A growing fashion company is looking for a freelance Technical Designer specializing in underwear to manage and own the fit and construction process from initial concept through production, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with design intent. This role partners closely with Design, Merchandising, Product Development, and overseas factories to support a seamless development process from prototype through final production.
Qualifications
7–10 years of technical design experience, preferably in intimates or underwear
Strong pattern making skills with deep knowledge of garment construction
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
Flexible and able to shift priorities as needed
Experience with Centric or comparable PLM systems
Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills for CADs and technical sketches
Responsibilities
Available approximately 30 hours per week, as needed
Serve as the go-to expert for fit, construction, and workmanship details
Create detailed tech packs including measurements, sketches, and construction while partnering with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development
Manage all aspects of fittings, construction, and technical development
Oversee the fit process from prototype through TOP, ensuring consistency across styles and factories
Track and manage fit samples throughout development
Schedule and manage weekly fit sessions and fit models
Ensure all T&A calendar milestones are met; proactively solve issues that may impact timelines
Execute fit comments promptly to maintain production timelines
