What We Are Looking For We are seeking a driven, creative, and solutions‑oriented Marketing and Communications Specialist to help build and amplify the story of a new and rapidly growing school. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving both the strategy and execution of internal stakeholder communications and playing a crucial role in communicating the vitality of our school community to the Stratford Schools network and our local and external community. The role will support admissions and enrollment efforts led by the Head of School, Director of Admissions, Middle School Principal, and High School Principal.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with school leadership and network teams to design and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that supports enrollment growth
Generate content based on a collaboratively developed editorial calendar highlighting curricular achievements, school values, and community events
Maintain and drive positive traffic to social media sites, including Facebook and Instagram, and update review sites such as Yelp and Niche
Translate school priorities into clear, compelling messaging for internal and external audiences
Identify opportunities to increase visibility, strengthen brand presence, and expand community reach
Develop and manage a dynamic editorial calendar that highlights student achievements, academic programs, and school culture
Capture and share authentic stories that reflect the energy and excellence of the school
Produce high‑quality written, visual, and digital content across platforms
Manage and grow social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Maintain and enhance the school’s presence on review platforms such as Yelp and Niche
Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies to drive traffic and interest
Create communications that directly support admissions and enrollment goals
Collaborate with admissions and leadership on campaigns, events, and outreach efforts
Strengthen connections with prospective families and the broader community
Ensure clarity and consistency across all school communications including newsletters, programs, and announcements
Anticipate communication needs across departments and deliver timely, effective messaging
Serve as the point of contact for external inquiries beyond admissions
Identify and secure opportunities that elevate the school’s profile and create opportunities for students
Support the design and execution of student and parent satisfaction surveys
Track alumni engagement and contribute to long‑term community building

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field
3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a similar role
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media tools
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Availability to support occasional evening and weekend events
General Information
This role reports directly to the Head of School, with indirect accountability to the Stratford Schools network Senior Communications and Marketing Manager
The full‑time equivalent salary range for this position is $72,000 – $82,000.
This position is regular, 12 months, full‑time, and exempt
Employees in exempt positions are expected to work as many hours as their responsibilities require, which includes evenings and weekends
