Position Profile Weaver’s Public Sector Audit team is looking to add an Audit Senior Associate – Public Sector to join its growing team. The Audit Senior Associate plays a key role in delivering high-quality audit services to public sector clients, including state and local governments, nonprofit organizations, and higher education institutions. This individual will be responsible for leading engagement sections, supervising staff, performing complex audit procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant auditing standards, governmental regulations, and reporting frameworks.
Responsibilities
Lead engagement sections for public sector audits
Supervise audit staff
Perform complex audit procedures
Ensure compliance with GAAS, GAAP, Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book), and relevant regulations
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
2–4 years of public accounting experience
CPA candidate
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAS, GAAP, Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book), and internal control concepts
Experience with state and local governments and/or performing Single Audits
Strong knowledge of GASB, Yellow Book, and Uniform Guidance
Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service
Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Qualifications
Preferred
Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
