Senior Director of Market Access
Brio Group, Sacramento, CA, United States
A precision oncology company is hiring a Senior Director of Market Access to lead U.S. market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategy for the upcoming launch of a first-in-class targeted therapy in a rare, biomarker-defined solid tumor indication. This leader will ensure broad, timely, and sustainable patient access while shaping the value evidence strategy in a high unmet need disease area. While the initial focus is on the lead asset, the role will evolve over time to include direct reports and contribute to the global launches of a broader oncology pipeline.
What You'll Do Develop comprehensive market access, pricing, channel, and reimbursement strategy to support launch and lifecycle management. Lead payer engagement strategy across national and regional commercial payers, PBMs, Medicare, and Medicaid. Collaborate with HEOR to develop compelling clinical, humanistic, and economic value propositions and evidence generation plans. Develop, train, and implement promotional resources and reimbursement pull-through that support field account teams; ensure programs comply with SOPs and MLR review. Build launch pricing and contracting strategies, with lifecycle considerations to ensure continued market competitiveness and patient access. Drive cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Pricing, HEOR, Trade & Distribution, and Field Access teams. Monitor the U.S. and global policy, reimbursement, and pricing landscape and assess strategic implications for the pipeline. Engage external partners including payers, healthcare providers, thought leaders, and decision-makers to build partnerships and gather insights. Influence the design of clinical development programs through global price, market access, and commercial opportunity assessments. Oversee budgeting and financial planning for all market access activities.
What You Bring BS/BA degree in a related discipline; 10-15 years of related experience. Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience in U.S. market access, managed markets, and/or payer strategy. Rare disease and oral oncology drug experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated success with U.S. market access commercialization and launches. Deep knowledge of payer landscapes, specialty pharmacy distribution, integrated delivery networks, formulary decision-making, and payment/access models. Experience conducting market research to inform access strategy and positioning. Experience providing input into global market access and pricing strategies for pipeline assets. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to diverse stakeholders, including external partners, HCPs, and senior leaders. Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-evolving environment. On-site role (4 days per week) with approximately 20% travel to vendor partners and relevant conferences/meetings.
Compensation Expected base salary range: $264,000 - $327,000, plus short-term incentive eligibility and equity participation. Final offer depends on experience, background, and interview performance.
