Position Overview
Zurich E&S is currently looking for a VP, Senior Underwriting Manager for our E&S Property team. This position will be responsible for developing, coaching, and managing a high‑performing regional team of Property underwriting staff. Additional responsibilities include managing regional performance, including new business production, policy count retention, rate/tiering execution, and portfolio management actions relative to plan; managing regional wholesale broker relationships; managing underwriter referrals; and maintaining a small production portfolio to stay attuned with regional market changes and desk‑level challenges. Responsibilities
Develop, coach, and manage a high‑performing regional team of Property underwriting staff. Additional responsibilities include managing regional performance, including new business production, policy count retention, rate/tiering execution, and portfolio management actions relative to plan; managing regional wholesale broker relationships; managing underwriter referrals; and maintaining a small production portfolio to stay attuned with regional market changes and desk‑level challenges. The VP, Senior Underwriting Manager will be expected to travel as necessary (up to 25%) to support the team and cultivate key broker relationships. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier, or Risk Management area within the Commercial Insurance industry. Bachelor’s Degree with 20 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area within the Commercial Insurance industry. Experience in E&S Property. 2 or more years of people management experience. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Strong underwriting acumen and expertise in the E&S Property space Wholesale broker relationships Strong planning and execution experience Strong team building and organizational skills CPCU Excellent skills in relationship building Strong knowledge of forms language and coverage intent Results oriented Compensation
