Corporate Strategy Lead

We are looking for a strategic, analytically driven professional to lead OUC’s enterprise Strategic Road-mapping program and oversee high-impact strategic intelligence and research that informs executive decision-making across the organization. You will drive complex research and analysis, develop strategic roadmaps, manage a portfolio of enterprise initiatives, and deliver executive-level insights that shape OUC’s long-term direction. You will coach junior team members, elevate the quality of strategic deliverables, and serve as a thought partner to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead OUC’s transformative, high-impact Strategic Road-mapping program guiding the Commission’s long-term strategy; oversee Strategic Intelligence & Research for executive decision making; manage internal and external engagements; coach and develop team members; communicate with Senior Leadership; support business units on strategic plan implementation with an entrepreneurial approach.
Drive research, data analysis, and industry-informed insights to generate action-ready strategic recommendations for executives and the Board.
Manage a portfolio of Strategic Roadmaps, including research, development, implementation, monitoring, and communication.
Develop financial models (NPV, ROI) and resource planning to prioritize Strategic Projects.
Lead executive communication highlighting the significance of findings using utilities industry language and business acumen.
Oversee a portfolio of Strategic Research projects; provide coaching opportunities and ensure quality deliverables.
Synthesize data across OUC’s portfolio to ensure consistent executive communication and synergistic business recommendations.
Identify areas of opportunity to advance the Strategy & Planning department and add value to Business Units.
Lead, oversee, and develop the Strategy & Planning Internship Program.
Project Management: manage a portfolio of Strategic Projects driving Employee, Customer, and Community Roadmaps; lead cross-functional facilitation with Senior Management; create financial models and implementation plans to support business cases; develop and deliver presentations for Executives and the Board of Directors.
Coach team members and executives on strategic project management practices; perform other duties as assigned.
Technical Requirements

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive high-impact decisions without close supervision.
Ability to create financial models, strategic frameworks, and PowerPoint presentations at a level comparable to leading management consulting firms.
Ability to lead and develop entry- and intermediate-level team members; ensure quality and consistency of deliverables.
Experience presenting to executive audiences and the Board of Directors.
Ability to work with large data sets for forecasting and trend analysis.
Strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies and how enterprises leverage them to drive business.
Advanced understanding of financial statements and ability to link strategic initiatives to financial outcomes.
Familiarity with green technology, decarbonization themes, and clean-technology investment trends.
Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to facilitate executive meetings.
Ability to manage a portfolio of projects from inception to implementation.
Proven ability to prioritize, anticipate challenges, and plan in a dynamic environment.
Ability to break down complex problems into data-driven components and synthesize into strategic recommendations.
Experience compiling information from multiple sources to influence decision making.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, modeling, complex spreadsheets) and proficiency with PowerPoint; ability to present quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Pitchbook, or similar data sources.
High attention to detail and familiarity with policies and procedures relevant to the industry.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Master’s degree in Business Administration (preferred).
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in strategy planning and development, business reporting, data analytics, or finance/accounting (required).
Two (2) years of leading strategic projects, programs, employees, teams, training, and/or work groups (required).
Experience with strategic data analysis (required).
Professional certification (CPA, CFA, etc.) preferred.
Utility industry experience preferred.
Salary, Location, and Benefits

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience

This job is performed in an office work environment with standard conditions and no unreasonable physical demands.
