Lead AV Specialist
This position supports MSK’s mission by delivering exceptional, reliable audiovisual experiences for high‑profile meetings, events, and conferences. The Lead AV Specialist ensures all technology—from audio systems to complex video routing—performs seamlessly. The role blends technical expertise, client support, collaboration, and hands‑on event execution to maintain MSK’s high standards for communication and presentation.
Role Overview
Deliver end‑to‑end setup, operation, and breakdown of complex AV systems for live events and meetings.
Operate and manage video matrix switchers, codecs, audio consoles, and integrated room systems.
Troubleshoot technical issues in real time during live events with a high degree of accuracy and composure.
Partner closely with Conference Center Coordinators, Field Services, and cross‑functional teams to support event needs.
Provide on‑site technical guidance to presenters, clients, and junior team members.
Assist supervisor with training staff on new technologies and best practices.
Track, maintain, and organize AV inventory, equipment racks, podiums, and cable infrastructure.
Support layout and room setup needs, including moving tables, chairs, and conference furniture.
Contribute design concepts and recommend improvements for new and existing AV systems.
Key Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise across AV technologies, including microphones, mixers, DSPs, Dante, projectors, and video transmission.
Strong understanding of video transport (NDI, SDI, category cable), video switchers, and patch bay routing.
Proficiency with basic video conferencing and codec configuration.
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong organizational, communication, and client‑facing skills with responsiveness to inquiries.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and progress tracking.

Schedule: 6:30am-2:30pm Mon‑Fri, plus OT as needed.
Location: On Site - 430 East 67th Street (RRL), New York, NY.
Reporting To: Audio Visual Supervisor.
Pay Range: $35.59 - $55.18 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt.
