Position Summary
The Marketing & Events Specialist plays a pivotal role in developing and executing marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth within the HVAC industry. This position manages and coordinates trade shows and customer events, and supports digital and traditional marketing campaigns and sales through strategic content and lead generation programs.
Measures of Success
Effective management of trade shows and events to achieve objectives – on-time and on-budget
Timely post-event evaluation and recommendations for improvement
Accurate and engaging internal/external email communications based on open and clickthrough rates
Responsibilities
Develop annual trade show and event marketing plan and budget based on strategic direction of the company and direct input from corporate marketing, business units, and channel managers
Perform the activities required to successfully execute the approved regional sales meeting, customer training and trade show plans
Coordinate logistics including booth design, vendor relationships, travel, sponsorships, and collateral.
Coordinate the advertising and promotional activities for trade shows
Evaluate the effectiveness of each tradeshow to measure ROI, planning & execution and to plan improvements for future tradeshow presence
Work with marketing specialists and sales to develop all marketing and sales materials and coordinate the flow of content with the applicable external vendors
Manage the production and distribution of all marketing and sales materials through print and electronic distribution via the Internet
Manage relationships with all external vendors regarding production and distribution of marketing materials, merchandising, and trade show assets (including negotiation of favorable terms, vendor selection and troubleshooting of issues)
Supports email marketing platform for internal and external communications
Work with Senior Manager of Marketing to develop and execute brand and marketing strategies including online and offline media, collateral, website, and social media; manage internal and external email communications schedule and content
Partner with sales teams to ensure marketing efforts effectively support territory goals and customer needs.
Work closely with distributors, contractors, and internal teams to promote programs, incentives, and technical education opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field
3-5 years of trade show/event marketing experience required
Experience with Constant Contact or equivalent a plus
Knowledge of HVAC products, distribution channels, and industry trade events a plus.
Strong organizational and event planning skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead others by influence
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Thorough understanding of branding, marketing and trade show management
Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and to influence stakeholders within and external to the organization
Proven experience managing external vendors and production budgets
Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) and marketing techniques for event management
Ability to think creatively to achieve objectives
Ability to meet deadlines under pressureExcellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
Ability to travel up to 20% domestic and/or international (travel may include weekends)
Work Environment
This position works primarily in an office environment using computers and technology. Verbal and auditory capability are required. Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas. Must be able to lift 50lbs.
This position may work from home up to 2X/week if performance is in good standing.
