Purple Wave Auction is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Marketing Intern to join our dynamic marketing team. This hands‑on internship offers real‑world experience in social media strategy, content creation, and community management. Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive content calendars tailored to specific industries.
Create original graphics, copy, and video content following brand guidelines.
Schedule and post content across multiple platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook).
Monitor and respond to community engagement.
Research trending topics and hashtags relevant to our industries and customers.
Assist with graphic design, basic video editing, and copywriting.
Present findings and recommendations to the marketing team.
Undertake additional assigned duties as requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their unique audiences.
Basic skills in graphic design and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
Basic skills in video/reels production (Capcut, Premiere, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Portfolio or examples of social media content creation, especially video/reels (preferred).
Spanish‑speaking bilingual candidates are encouraged.
Candidates may be requested to complete position‑specific skills assessments.
Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
Requires the ability to satisfactorily complete a background check.
Working Settings
Part‑Time, Hourly, Non‑Exempt, eligible for overtime.
Internship scheduled to run from hire date until August 2026.
Preferred minimum 20 hours per week, schedule determined in agreement with the manager during office hours of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Based at the Purple Wave headquarters in Manhattan, KS.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
Compensation
Hourly rate starting at least $14.00 per hour.
Monthly Bonus Program at 50% level – determined by the company’s monthly revenue result and paid on a “percent to plan” payout formula (90% = $150, 100% = $300, 110% = $450, 120% = $600).
401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment.
