Process Engineering Director

As a Director of Process Engineering, you will set the strategy of process engineering, keep a talented team stable and efficient, monitor the activities of advanced cell manufacturing processes (Electrode, Assembly, and Formation) control, parameter setting, trouble‑shooting, DOE implementation, Cpk improvement, continuous optimization and line upgrading, documentation preparation, deal with urgent quality issues, critical process defects on the production line, get involved in new process/equipment development, layout planning, capacity balancing, FAT, and production ramp‑up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set competitive, proactive strategies for company cell manufacturing processes.
  • Cultivate the process team and coach key members to maintain a robust and professional output.
  • Organize the team to solve process issues, create a collaborative, deep‑thinking atmosphere, and work with corresponding departments.
  • Enhance team members’ quality and cost mindset through actual cases, using a statistical approach to coach the team and improve output.
  • Keep daily confirmation of process status, prevent potential failures, and continuously reduce loss and defect.
  • Study advanced technology in the industry, continuously optimize and upgrade current processes.
  • Work with R&D and equipment teams to develop more reliable and efficient processes, ensuring company process technology keeps pace with leading tiers.
  • Provide constructive suggestions to the equipment team for evaluating equipment structure, floor layout, and capacity balance during equipment selection.
  • Communicate ideas and results internally and externally, ensuring each level receives a clear, precise message.
  • Monitor process‑related project status, provide updates, deliver reports and presentations regarding current and future development activities, and make recommendations.
  • Identify patentable inventions and generate IPs.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in science or engineering (Machinery, Automation, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience with process engineering.
  • Knowledge of cylindrical cell manufacturing process/equipment technologies is preferred.
  • Deep, in‑depth knowledge of cell process, modification, and continuous optimization.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills driven by curiosity and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English.
