Director of Security Engineering

Hampton North are partnered with a th, mission-driven technology company operating in a regulated environment that is hiring a Director Information Security to lead execution across security engineering and operations.

This is a builder/operator role, ideal for someone who enjoys turning strategy into execution, scaling teams, and driving technical outcomes in a fast-moving environment.

You’ll act as the operational leader for security, allowing the CISO to focus on broader strategy while you own delivery, maturity, and day-to-day execution.

What you’ll own

• Security engineering + security operations execution
• Detection & response maturity (SIEM, SOC partnerships, threat hunting)
• Building scalable operating models driven by metrics and automation
• Secure enablement of AI adoption
• Hiring and scaling the security team throughout 2026
• Driving cross-functional alignment across Engineering, IT, Product Security, GRC, and Legal

What they’re looking for

• Senior security leader with deep technical roots (not purely GRC or vendor management)
• Experience running security operations and engineering teams
• Proven success scaling teams and raising the performance bar
• Comfortable operating in “wartime” environments — aggressive timelines, high ownership, fast pace
• Strong background across modern security architecture (IAM, cloud security tooling, detection engineering, incident response)
