Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Strategy, the Social Media Associate Manager will execute the day-to-day management of all SAG-AFTRA Foundation and Storyline Online® social media channels. This role is responsible for creating, editing and publishing content across platforms, ensuring that all digital content reflects the Foundation’s voice, mission and strategic priorities.


Working within the Communications Department and cross-functionally with teams and across the organization, the Social Media Manager will bring strategy to life through compelling content that supports the Foundation’s mission to educate, inspire and engage our primary audience of SAG-AFTRA artists and the broader community overall.


This is a hands-on role that requires strong storytelling instincts and editorial judgment, technical skills, collaboration, and flexibility to capture content across a wide range of programs and events. The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, content-rich environment, juggling multiple priorities while producing high-quality, engaging content.


Responsibilities

Content Creation & Publishing
● Create, edit, caption and publish content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube/Shorts for both the Foundation and Storyline Online®
● Exercise sound judgment and discernment in selecting the most educational, engaging and inspirational clips from longer videos, using intuition, understanding of social media dynamics to maximize audience engagement and organizational objectives
● Edit short-form video content using Adobe Premiere
● Write clear, engaging and platform-specific copy for all posts
● Curate and produce short-form content that drives audiences to long-form programming on YouTube


Content Management & Coordination
● Manage social media calendars, scheduling and publishing through Sprout Social
● Coordinate with internal teams to gather assets, information and approvals
● Execute campaign plans and content strategies developed by the Associate Director of Digital Strategy and Communications Department
● Stay informed on current trends, emerging platforms and shifts in the social media ecosystem, ensuring the Foundation’s content remains relevant, timely and impactful


On-Site Content Capture
● Attend Foundation programs, events, screenings, fundraisers and initiatives to capture social content
● Prepare talent, panelists, instructors and members for behind-the-scenes content
● Write testimonials, interview questions and short scripts for on-site content
● Produce and edit real-time and behind-the-scenes content


Community Engagement & Platform Oversight
● Monitor and build community engagement across platforms, including collaborations, shares, comments and direct messages
● Work with talent, panelists, instructors, studios and members to create content highlighting their experiences with Foundation programs and facilities to share on Foundation platforms
● Ensure all content is accurate, up-to-date and aligned with brand standards
● Support accessibility efforts, including captioning for social video


Analytics & Reporting Support
● Track performance metrics and identify high-performing content
● Support reporting efforts and contribute insights to inform future content


Collaboration & Communications
● Work closely with all internal teams to support content needs
● Copy edit and write for digital materials and communications needs
● Maintain organized archives of social media assets and content
● Write website copy and maintain website updates as needed


Schedule

The position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends in support of Foundation programs, including screenings, panels, award shows and fundraising events. Work may take place both on-site at events and off-site in a collaborative “social media command center” environment to support real-time content creation and publishing.

CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, Director of Communications, Associate Director of Digital Strategy, Associate Creative Director, National Director of Performers Programs, Programming Team, Production/AV Team, Development Team and other internal departments as needed


Qualifications

● 2–4+ years of experience in social media management or digital content creation
● Strong professional communication, writing, editing and storytelling skills
● Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
● Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere for video editing and captioning
● Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, Canva, CapCut and other content creation tools
● Experience using Sprout Social for scheduling, publishing and analytics
● Experience with project management tools like Airtable
● Experience with all major social platforms and their native analytics and best practices
● Creative thinker and proactive problem-solver
● Collaborative and curious team player
● Understanding of social media trends, with the judgment to apply them thoughtfully within a mission-driven organization
● Knowledge of new developments in digital storytelling, arts and culture, brands and emerging platforms
● Fluency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
● Experience with WordPress content management preferred
● Knowledge of and interest in entertainment, media and the performing arts strongly preferred.
