Mechanical Designer II

Designer will work with Mechanical Engineer and/or Mechanical Design lead to communicate with client, deliver completed construction documents, and assist in construction administration as required for most project types. Responsibilities

Utilize education and experience to independently develop, implement, and draft construction documents for most projects or major portions thereof. Solve medium to difficult design challenges that arise on projects. Apply knowledge of recognized national standards with minimal oversight. Use design assistance software such as Trane Trace throughout the design process. Understand basic energy codes and their impact on design. Design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for small to medium projects. Duties

Proficient in AutoCAD and/or REvit; train new employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and answer technical questions. Collaborate with architects and other engineers to develop construction documents based on client requirements; perform some project management functions, quality control, or other duties as needed. Provide high level quality control on own and possibly other projects for final review by the Mechanical Engineer or Design Lead. Possess direct client contact in some cases. Work within established budgets; may be responsible for financial success of projects. Select and design HVAC systems, equipment, controls and provide energy calculations with minimal supervision on simple systems. Edit specifications for small to medium size projects.
