Planned Giving Officer will play a key role in generating plannedand majorgifts forSaint AnselmCollege.The Gift Planning teamisfocused on increasing future and current support for theCollege’s core priorities.This includescurrent,revocableand irrevocable gifts, usingoutright gifts andestate and retirement planning toaccomplisha donor’s intention. The ideal candidate will engage with alumni, parents, and friends within a geographically basedportfolio to cultivate relationships, manage marketing strategies, and raise awareness of planned gift vehicles. There will also be the opportunity to manage class volunteer leaders as they partner with gift planning to increase the number of class estate commitments, growing both future dollars and new members of theSaint Anselm Legacy Society. Examples of Duties: Advance individual relationships that result in philanthropic contributions:

Research,identify, qualify, cultivate, andsolicitmajor andlegacy giftsbymanaginga domestic basedportfolio of120-130donors withdemonstratedloyalty to theCollege. Travel & Engagement:

Visit 10-12+ donors/prospects monthly along with significant phone,text,and email outreach. Travel isrequiredtoengagedonor prospects and to steward existing donors. There is an expectation of submittingtimelycontactreports for each visit. Estate Management:

In partnership with theAssociateVice President,Development,and the Business Office, overseetheprobate and estate settlement processesin accordance withSaint Anselm'sguidelines and fiduciary standards, communicating directly with attorneys, trustees, and internal stakeholders to manage family expectations and acknowledge estate planned gifts. Life Income Plans Administration:

Managethe administration ofSaint Anselm'slife income plans, collaborating with donors, beneficiaries, and external partners to ensure effective management and compliance. Technical Expertise:

Utilizetechnical knowledge in tax, investment, and legal aspects of charitable giving to articulate effective discussions with donors, counsel, colleagues, and volunteers. Internal Training/Information sharing: Elevate the number of external conversations that include gift planning across the department’s development team by helping to build confidence and skill in every colleague’s giftconversations. Partner closely with colleagues across all advancement departments to achieve integrated advancement operations,leveragingthisconstructive collaborationto increase alumni participation in fundraising initiatives. Strategic Marketing:

O verseegift planningmarketing and communications to raise awareness of planned giving vehicleswithour alumni and volunteers. Strategic Communication:

Maintaina comprehensive understanding of the priorities of the College and make persuasive verbal and written casesfor supporting key programs and projects, effectively matching the interests of prospects to specific College needs. Teamwork/Collaboration:

Work closely with theAssociateVice President,Developmentandthe Advancement Coordinatortodesign, track,and overseegift planning marketing, as well asreceipt and acknowledgment of all deferred gifts andbequests. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degreerequired;Master’s encouraged.Minimum5+years ofmajor giftandplannedgivingexperience, preferably in a college/university setting, with demonstrable success in cultivating andsolicitingplanned gifts from individuals at all monetary levels, with success making solicitations aloneandin conjunction with volunteers and organization leaders.Will also consider a candidate withprofessional experience in estate or financial planning withdemonstratedsuccesshelping clients with charitable estate planning. Strong interpersonal skills arerequired, both written and oral, as well assophistication and maturity in social and professional settings.Must be able to travel locally and nationally to meet with donors and prospective donors to raise money on behalf of the College. Ability to work various hours including nights and/or weekends. Strong collaborative skill set.Ability to be a contributing part of a positive work environment through collaboration and active partnership. The successful candidate will have gift planning marketing experience in addition toa keen senseof how to tactfully engage individuals,couples,and families on topics of financial planning and legacy giving. Self-motivation with the ability to prioritize, takeinitiative,and work independently is highly valued. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently or as part of a team. Familiarity with CRMs andprospectresearch tools such as Raiser’s Edge- NXT,PGCalc, and/oriWave. Proficiencyin standard office software tools and applications. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
