
Commercial Portfolio Manager II

Position Summary
The Commercial/Ag Portfolio Manager is primarily responsible for the ongoing monitoring of the commercial loan portfolio, including risk rating recommendations, exception review, and relationship retention/expansion. Supports and participates in all commercial lending initiatives. Provides administrative, analytical, and support assistance for Commercial Bankers while acting as a liaison between the client, the Commercial Banker, and the Administrative Assistant to ensure all commercial clients are serviced professionally to meet and exceed the client expectations.
Objectives of This Role
Manage a portfolio of accounts.
Meet with clients and participate in business development calls.
Assess prospective client’s viability for credit.
Become a policy and procedure expert and recommend appropriate revisions, when necessary.
Responsibilities
Review and recommend credit decisions.
Partner with Commercial Banker and the Administrative Assistant to form a team of bankers to serve the client.
Define Borrowers and Guarantors, deal structure, credit terms and conditions, and financial covenants.
Value collateral both at loan inception and during the loan term.
Generate Commitment Letters.
Perform risk rating analysis and provide recommendations for changes to the appropriate authority.
Capture and document credit decisions, conditions, and modifications.
Collaborate with Credit Analysts to facilitate loan underwriting, decisioning, and closing.
Perform various monitoring actions to insure covenant and collateral compliance.
Communicate directly with clients regarding credit events and actions as necessary.
Cross-sell all bank products and coordinate with other departments to do so. Utilize sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service.
Analyze loan requests via financial statements, tax returns and other supporting reports.
Prepare loan presentations for Management and Board of Directors.
Review Bank documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Attend and participate in Officer Meetings and Commercial Department meetings and in Loan Committee meetings.
Address customer questions, inquiries and problems quickly and efficiently.
Be actively involved in the community and community organizations to promote the bank within a market area.
Participate in Educational opportunities when offered.
Be aware of external credit enhancement programs such as Business Linked Deposit, SBA, Revolving Loan Programs, etc.
Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulatory compliance that apply to position.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Adhere to Customer Identification, Customer Due Diligence and reporting of suspicious activities to the BSA Department.
