About the Role The oldest and largest independent, employee-owned publishing house in the United States is hiring a Senior Publicist to lead publicity campaigns for a range of adult trade titles. The company publishes books built to last across literary fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and more, and is known for its editorial quality and long backlist.
This is a hands‑on publicity role for someone with a strong track record in book PR. The Senior Publicist will create and execute strategic campaign plans, pitch across print, online, broadcast, podcast, and influencer media, arrange and promote author events, and place op‑ed essays and excerpts. The role involves daily collaboration with publicity, marketing, editorial, and other teams. The position is based at the company's New York City headquarters on a hybrid schedule of three days in‑office and two days remote.

Qualifications
4-6 years of book publicity experience
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Track record of strong publicity results
Aptitude for quick, thorough, and effective research
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
