We are seeking an experienced, people‑focused leader to serve as Director of Energy & Utilities Consulting for our Mountain Region, based in Boise. This role provides regional leadership for our Energy & Utilities Consulting (EUC) practice and is responsible for driving strategy, growth, and performance across multiple consulting business lines.

This individual will lead teams delivering technical, economic, and strategic solutions that support clients’ energy transition initiatives. The role requires strong business and financial acumen, a commitment to people development, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable results.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute regional business plans and strategies aligned with enterprise objectives and market opportunities.
- Identify, develop, and implement operational, marketing, pricing, and client retention strategies.
- Lead the group to meet targets for sales, revenue, and profitability.
Team Leadership & Management
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to a multidisciplinary consulting organization.
- Oversee staffing strategies, work assignments, and performance management processes.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance culture focused on accountability and professional growth.
Client & Business Development
- Drive business development efforts in the Mountain region.
- Collaborate with business development managers, business line leads, and project teams to identify new opportunities and secure projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the utility and energy sectors.
Operational & Financial Oversight
- Manage department budgets and monitor financial performance.
- Review and present financial reports to regional and practice leadership.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, quality standards, and risk management requirements.
- Support firm initiatives and lead change management efforts within the practice.
Technical & Advisory Leadership
- Provide senior‑level consulting and technical guidance across power generation, transmission, and distribution planning and advisory services.
- Support integrated techno‑economic, engineering, and power system studies.
- Champion innovation, strategic thinking, and consistent delivery excellence across project work.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in engineering, business or related degree from an accredited program and 13 years relevant consulting experience required.
- Master Degree MBA preferred.
- Excellent business acumen with proven success managing consulting engagements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly and efficiently interpret large data sets.
- Ability to uncover customer needs, develop recommendations and deliver them persuasively.
- Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts.
- Excellent planning and analytical skills.
- Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
