To assist the director in managing the transportation and vehicle maintenance program of all district-owned vehicles, providing for the safe and efficient operation of the transportation department, and coordination of route services.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred
Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) Official or Administrator Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of pupil transportation principles
Ability to manage personnel
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Applicable computer skills (experience with TransFinder preferred)
Class-B (or higher) CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements (or ability to obtain)
Texas School Bus Driver Certification (or ability to obtain)
Ability to pass annual Texas School Bus Driver physical exam
Experience:
Three years supervisory/leadership experience in pupil transportation
Prior experience as a school bus driver
Such alternative to the above as the Board may find appropriate
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: : Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals;
standard instructional equipment
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: Frequent districtwide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
