The Survey Crew Chief is responsible for leading field survey operations, managing a survey crew, and performing data collection and construction layout activities. Job Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a survey crew for field operations.
• Perform surveying tasks including topographic, boundary, ALTA, right of way, as built, flood elevation, and lot surveys.
• Conduct construction layout and staking activities.
• Collect, calculate, and record accurate field data.
• Create plats, plot plans, and survey documentation.
• Maintain and care for survey equipment, instruments, and vehicles.
• Follow CAD standards and utilize CAD tools for survey-related tasks.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of field work.
• Coordinate with clients and field representatives.
• Ensure quality and accuracy in all surveying operations.

Qualifications and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in surveying and related field tasks.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred.
• Knowledge of survey calculations, legal descriptions, and field data recording.
• Experience with GPS and robotic survey equipment preferred.
• Ability to supervise field teams and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
