The City of Lauderhill is seeking a dynamic
Communications Administrator
to serve as the City’s official spokesperson and lead all external communications. This role is critical in shaping public perception, managing media relations, and delivering clear, consistent messaging across all platforms. About the Role Reporting to the City Manager, you will oversee the City’s communications strategy, manage media engagement, and coordinate messaging across departments. You’ll play a key role in both everyday communications and crisis response, ensuring the public stays informed and engaged. Key Responsibilities Serve as the
primary spokesperson
for the City in media interactions Manage and respond to
media inquiries and public information requests Develop and execute
strategic communication plans Draft and distribute
press releases, public statements, and newsletters Coordinate interviews, press conferences, and media coverage Ensure consistent
branding and messaging
across all departments Produce and manage
digital content
(video, social media, website) Support
emergency communications
alongside Police, Fire, and Public Works Identify and mitigate potential
reputation or crisis risks Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging across initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Administration, or related field 4+ years of progressive experience in communications or public relations 2+ years of
team leadership experience Experience managing
media relations, press releases, and public messaging Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills Ability to work in fast-paced and
high-pressure environments Valid Florida Driver’s License Preferred Experience Background in
government or public sector communications Crisis communications and emergency response experience Work Environment Flexible schedule including
