Job Summary
Designs a wide range of communications materials for University partners. Responsible for project management efforts, in the development and production of print and online communications materials for use in publications and other visual presentations. Interacts on a consistent basis with client management, production personnel, and vendors. Advises and counsels client management and production personnel. May supervise other staff and/or students.
Responsibilities
- Counsels with end‑user clients and production personnel in conceptualizing and defining graphic design requirements.
- Establishes priorities‑based availability of resources and design requirements.
- Prepares designs, artwork, and other visuals in support of client needs and consistent with design standards.
- Determines required resources, schedules, and makes other required production arrangements.
- Procures services of outside vendors and contractors where required.
- Oversees production process to ensure quality standards are met.
- Reviews final product with users to ensure user satisfaction.
- Maintains ongoing awareness of graphic design industry trends and developments.
Required Qualifications
Required Experience: At least five (5) years related experience.
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications: An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge and skill in the application of graphic design principles and processes.
- Project management, organization, and communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills.
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (Microsoft Office suite).
- Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills.
- Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette.
