Job Description:
The Senior UX/UI Designer leads the design process for various online products, working with visual designers, user research, engineering, business analysts, content specialists and business stakeholders in a fast-moving agile environment to deliver high quality experiences.
Designers leverage a wide variety of hard and soft skills and techniques to best visualize and validate designs.
Responsibilities
This role has an approximately 60/40 split in leading the design for various digital products and supporting the development and delivery of these products.
- Work with business analysts and the user research team in product discovery.
- Collaboratively define the product goals and metrics, user journey, wireframes, high fidelity mock-ups and prototypes.
- Validate design concepts and present designs and rationale to senior stakeholders for approval.
- Support and participate in user testing and guerilla testing.
- Support and participate in delivering specifications.
- Collaborate to improve design processes and share best practices.
- Mentor more junior designers on the team.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in user experience design for web-based applications.
- 3 to 5 years of experience with responsive web design.
- Able to translate business requirements into intuitive interface solutions while maintaining established brand look and feel.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment with other designers, product managers, developers, QA, user research and extended stakeholders.
- Able to understand and design complex workflows.
- Adept at presenting designs and design rationale to stakeholders.
- Experience working in an Agile development process.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of backend systems capabilities.
- Able to work independently and build strong relationships with functional team partners.
- Expert with Figma/Sketch, Invision, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Box, Slack and Jira.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HCI, Graphic Design, or related field.
- Experience in health care, or other complex, highly regulated environment.
- Experience working in large matrixed corporate environments on distributed teams and stakeholders.
- Experience working with design systems and style guides.
- Information architecture experience (strategic planning and diagrammatic skills).
- Good understanding of HTML and CSS (ability to code is not necessary).
