The Senior Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the accounting team. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial support to resort leadership. The Director of Accounting partners closely with the General Manager, Executive Director of Finance and department heads to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting/Forecasting – lead/assist budget and forecast processes for the property in collaboration with EDOF and Executive Team.
Reconciliations – Responsible for monthly reconciliations and review.
Monthly Financial Packages – Ensures that the P&L is accurate and reports are delivered to constituents on time.
Audits – Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies and coordinate internal and external audits.
Labor Management – Accountable for labor meetings and teams’ adherence to labor standards across the resort.
Tax Filings – Calculate, prepare, file and pay all taxes that are required, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or.
Capital Planning – Assist capital manager with the calculation of return on capital improvements and impact on liquidity.
General Ledger Accounting – Review and post all journal entries provided by team.
Accounts Payable – Ensure that teams are within budgeted/forecasted expenses at all times and review AP payments prior to cash transfer.
Accounts Receivable – Ensure that all direct bill approved events are moved to the AR ledger within 3 days of conclusion of event, billing is sent, and AR log is maintained.
Regulatory Compliance – Ensure resort is current on all licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes.
Establish and continually audit all internal processes including and not limited to purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, resort assets, master keys, payroll, and employee records.
Must have thorough knowledge of the resort's systems, its functions, and the ability to train new associates.

Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.

Abide by all resort policies and safety rules.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior‑level role within hospitality, resort, or hotel environments.
Proven expertise in financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance within a complex, multi‑revenue stream operation.
Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional partners and drive strategic decision‑making.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and experience with financial systems and hotel/resort management software.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with flexibility to support business needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
