TKPNX, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix, is seeking a dynamic Meteorologist/MSJ Reporter to forecast weather and deliver impactful daily news. The ideal candidate will prepare and present accurate forecasts, produce engaging graphics, and report, write, shoot, and edit stories on a range of news topics, showcasing strong journalistic judgment and creativity.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts across multiple platforms.

Prepare and deliver severe weather updates.

Produce clean, creative, and informative graphics to tell the weather story.

Write and report news from the field.

Report live on breaking and developing news.

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Create digital content for websites, apps, streaming services, and social media.

Requirements

2–5 years of on‑air weather experience, preferably including reporting.

Proficiency in posting content to various websites and social media; computer literacy required, including experience with weather and newsroom computer systems.

Strong news judgment, effective communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision‑making.

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, meteorology, mass communication, or a related field.
