This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting claims, resolving denied or unpaid claims, and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal billing regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and experienced in medical billing systems and procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Billing OperationsReconcile billing records for accuracy, including authorizations, eligibility, diagnoses, and modifiers.Analyze daily billing reports and flag discrepancies.Auditing & ComplianceConduct monthly audits of billable claims to ensure compliance.Submit claims and follow up on outstanding or denied submissions.Collaboration & CommunicationWork with the Billing Supervisor to resolve audit findings and claim issues.Coordinate with agencies to address reimbursement and documentation concerns.Partner with the Clinical Department to verify service documentation.Documentation & TrackingMaintain admissions tracking for new clients, discharges, and status updates.Monitor authorization requests/extensions and ensure timely submission.Review group counseling and education session logs for billing accuracy.System ProficiencyUse electronic health record systems (e.g., PCNK, MyEvolv) for billing activities.Stay current on Title 22, Title 9, and DMC Provider Manual guidelines.Must-Have Skills & KnowledgeMedical billing and coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)Claims processing and revenue cycle understandingEHR/EMR system proficiencyMicrosoft Excel expertiseStrong organizational and time management skillsClear written and verbal communicationBasic math skillsTeam collaborationFamiliarity with DMC procedure codesEducation & Experience RequirementsRequired: High school diploma or GEDPreferred: Medical Billing Certificate or equivalent experienceRequired: Minimum 3 years of hands-on medical billing experiencePreferred: At least 1 year working with SAPC DMC-ODS billing systemExperience in denied claims handling, auditing, and billing correctionInterested in hearing more?
