
Construction Superintendent

Overview
STRUCTURAL integrates technology‑driven solutions with specialty contracting services to improve, protect, and enhance existing infrastructure. It is the largest concrete repair contractor in the United States with roughly 2,500 employees nationwide and in select international markets.
Position Construction Superintendent – based out of Long Island City, NY. Responsible for high‑level management of field leaders, foremen, and open‑shop crews to ensure projects – primarily concrete repair, masonry restoration, waterproofing, and structural strengthening – are completed safely and on schedule.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Project Managers, Division Managers, and other leaders within the Structural NE&F business line.
Participate in pre‑project and pre‑task planning and disseminate planning details to field crews.
Motivate team members to accomplish tasks, coordinate work activities, and assign work based on material and worker requirements.
Ensure crews operate all tools and equipment safely, properly, and productively.
Provide training and assistance to crews in work‑related tasks.
Assist Project Managers in evaluating production rates.
Complete all essential paperwork accurately.
Interview and hire new field employees.
Provide leadership to the Company's Safety 24/7 culture.
Qualifications
High school degree or equivalent.
10+ years of general construction experience, including at least 5 years as a Foreman or Assistant Superintendent.
Prior experience in general repair projects (concrete repair, structural strengthening, waterproofing, corrosion control, facade restoration).
Experience managing 4 projects simultaneously, preferably in a commercial construction environment.
Ability to supervise field managers and crews with minimal subcontractor oversight.
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and executing construction drawings and contract specifications.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company operating principles.
Experience producing look‑ahead schedules and working with other construction documents.
Effective communication with customers, crews, and project teams.
Intermediate computer and construction math skills.
