About the Role
Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an M&A associate with 4-6 years of relevant experience to join the Transactions Practice Group in our Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, New York, Salt Lake City, or Washington, DC office. Foley's nationally integrated Transactions Practice Group principally handles M&A and securities matters for publicly and privately held middle market and upper middle market companies, and private equity funds. This role focuses primarily on U.S. and cross-border middle market M&A transactions, with a significant focus on private equity M&A transactions, and is ideal for a "deal runner" who is comfortable overseeing matters with limited supervision and working directly with partners, senior associates, and clients. Qualifications Qualified candidates will have experience representing clients in complex corporate M&A transactions. Early-stage financing experience is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate will bring strong drafting and communication skills, business development aptitude, and excellent interpersonal skills, along with a positive attitude and exceptional work ethic.
Strong academic credentials are required. Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA accredited law school and be active members in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Bar of the state where the hiring office is located will be required as a condition of employment.
Compensation In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is between $290,000 - $390,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
