Employee Assistance Program
Job Summary Acts as a primary assistant to the Associate Dean of Financial Aid and Financial Aid Director. Primary student contact for Satisfactory Academic Progress. Primary contact for resolving returned refunds.
Job Duties
Manage Satisfactory Academic Progress for the college. Reevaluate all students’ progress. Adjudicate student appeals. Collaborate with academic advisors on individual student success plan.
Resolve returned refunds that include Title IV aid. Work with Bursar’s Office to ensure all returned refund monies are reconciled.
Performs financial aid verification, disbursement, authorization, directs loan processing, counseling, and reporting requirements. Resolve individual student issues and conflicts from the KCTCS Student Service Center and/or Starfish. Use individual dissection to implement resolution.
Use professional knowledge to determine eligibility for professional judgments, EFC and budget recalculations, and Unusual Enrollment History Appeals.
Conduct financial aid / scholarship presentations at workshops, orientation, high school workshops, and other community organizations/events.
Attending Professional Development and Financial Aid conferences and training. Serve on college committees. Active participation in state financial aid association.
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Student Success/Dean of Students, Associate Dean of Financial Aid and Financial Aid Director of Operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, education or related field and four (4) years of related work experience, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, education or related field and six (6) years of related work experience, or equivalent.
