Position Type Contingent on Contract Award.
Salary $60k-$105k (depending on experience)
Role Overview The Technical Writer I supports the Navy by developing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation in support of IT, cybersecurity, and engineering operations within global Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) environments.
Essential Functions
Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including system manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Ensure documentation complies with DoD, Navy, and program standards, including formatting and configuration control requirements.
Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and program staff to gather and validate technical content.
Support documentation for RMF packages, system configurations, and operational procedures.
Maintain document version control and support audits, reviews, and updates.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Required
1–3 years of experience in technical writing, communications, IT, or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience creating and editing technical documentation in a structured environment.
Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat).
Desired
Experience supporting DoD or Navy programs.
Familiarity with configuration management and document control processes.
Experience supporting RMF documentation, system engineering documentation, or IT service documentation.
Additional Qualifications
Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple documentation efforts simultaneously.
Security Clearance
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance. Active clearances preferred. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
