Marketing and Events Associate Intern
Nichols College, Dudley, MA, United States
and the job listing Expires on April 30, 2026
WeaponUp is a fast-growing, female-led movement brand redefining fitness through its signature sword yoga fusion practice. Rooted in strength, grace, discipline, and beauty, WeaponUp brings together the kung fu straight sword and yoga-inspired movement to create a training experience that is both visually striking and deeply transformative.
With a rapidly growing global audience and a highly engaged community of women, WeaponUp is expanding beyond digital content into live events, physical products, brand experiences, social storytelling, and a broader consumer ecosystem. As the company grows, we are looking for a highly capable Marketing and Events Associate Intern to support the brand across experiential marketing, event execution, campaigns, and social media.
This is more than an internship. It is an opportunity to step inside a growing brand and help bring WeaponUp to life across both digital and physical touchpoints. The right person will support the team in creating compelling experiences, helping execute campaigns, and ensuring that events and marketing initiatives are carried out with care, polish, and strong attention to detail.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, creative, proactive, and excited by the pace of a growing female-led brand. It offers meaningful hands‑on exposure across marketing, events, operations, and brand-building, with the potential to grow into a longer‑term associate role within the company.
Position Overview The Marketing and Events Associate Intern will support WeaponUp across marketing coordination, event logistics, experiential activations, campaign execution, social media support, and general brand‑building initiatives. This person will work closely with the Founder and Creative Director to help bring live experiences and marketing efforts to life in a way that feels elevated, on‑brand, and well executed.
This is a full‑time, three‑month internship beginning in April. The role is designed for someone who wants real operating experience inside a fast‑moving company and is eager to contribute across multiple areas of the business. The right candidate will be dependable, detail‑oriented, resourceful, and excited to help support both the visible and behind‑the‑scenes work required to grow a premium consumer brand.
We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable helping coordinate event logistics, supporting campaign rollouts, organizing moving pieces, writing copy, assisting with social media, and helping ensure the team stays on track. This role is best suited to someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a startup‑style environment, and wants to grow into a broader marketing and brand role over time.
Key Responsibilities
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of WeaponUp live events, community gatherings, pop‑ups, and experiential activations
Assist with event logistics, including schedules, materials, vendor coordination, attendee communication, setup needs, and on‑site support

Support experiential marketing efforts that help build awareness, deepen community engagement, and create memorable in‑person brand experiences
Assist with campaign coordination across launches, promotions, partnerships, community initiatives, and special projects
Support social media content planning and day‑to‑day execution, including drafting captions, organizing content, scheduling posts, and helping maintain consistency across platforms
Help organize content from events, activations, shoots, and campaigns for use across social media, email, and marketing channels
Assist with community‑facing marketing efforts, including newsletters, announcements, event promotion, and audience engagement support
Support influencer, partner, or collaborator outreach and follow‑up as needed
Help with light copywriting for marketing materials, social captions, event descriptions, promotional messaging, and campaign assets
Assist with administrative and organizational tasks related to marketing and events to help the team operate efficiently
Track deliverables, deadlines, and campaign needs to ensure projects stay organized and on schedule
Contribute ideas for marketing activations, social storytelling, campaign themes, and community engagement opportunities
Represent the WeaponUp brand professionally, thoughtfully, and enthusiastically in both internal and external settings
Qualifications
1–2 years of relevant experience through internships, freelance work, part‑time roles, campus leadership, or early‑career experience in marketing, events, communications, social media, brand partnerships, or related fields
Strong interest in marketing, experiential events, brand‑building, and social media

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities and a high level of collaboration
Proactive, dependable, and willing to take initiative on both creative and administrative tasks
Strong sense of aesthetics and interest in premium branding, consumer experience, and visual presentation
Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and X
Ability to assist with event logistics and, when needed, be physically present for setup, execution, and breakdown support
Interest in women’s empowerment, wellness, movement, community‑building, or female‑led brands is strongly preferred
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn are essential
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting live events, pop‑ups, community activations, or brand experiences
Experience assisting with social media management, campaign coordination, or content production
Comfort being in a startup or early‑growth environment where flexibility and initiative are valued
A strong eye for brand voice, presentation, and storytelling
Interest in growing into a longer‑term associate role in marketing, brand, community, or events
