Marketing and Communications Coordinator Job Description
Reports to: Executive Director
Position: Staff, Part time, 15-20 hrs/per week
Compensation: $25/hr; PTO; benefits eligible at 20hrs/wk
Core areas: Marketing and Communications in support of the mission/vision of the organization
Schedule: This position works flexible hours, supporting the programming needs and the mission/vision of the organization. HOBTs business hours are 10am-4pm, Monday through Friday. Some evenings and weekends might be required in support of programming. This position will require some in-person hours and can accommodate working some hours from home.
Responsibilities Marketing and Communications coordinator collaborates on the promotion of HOBT's programming, including ticketed and non-ticketed events, fundraising events and merchandise sales. Marketing and Communications coordinator collaborates in telling and documenting of HOBT's story.
Marketing and Communications coordinator collaborates with staff, and works with ED on the following:
Website: update and maintain info, update the calendar, create new registration and ticket forms, upload new photos and other website needs, manage merch/shop page, etc.
Newsletter: compile programing information monthly and publish the newsletter using the MailChimp platform.
Social media: create and post content daily about HOBT programming and local puppetry/art events, in support of HOBT mission/vision – collaborate with ED updating and maintaining the social media calendar (platforms: fb and IG).
Content Creation: gather photos and create graphics and videos; create flyers and other promotional materials to promote HOBT and its programming.
Media drive: dive into the existing HOBT media drive to continue uploading archived/historic footage of HOBT events to the hob history page on the website; update media drive with new photos and videos on an ongoing basis.
Skills: comfort level with Mailchimp, Squarespace, Canva and social media platforms.
Marketing and Communications coordinator attends weekly staff meetings, contributes ideas and is an integral part of HOBT staff.
As an artist, marketing and communication coordinator might choose to take on other roles within the theatre, which will be treated as independent 1099 jobs and not related to this job or paid out of this contract.
