Director, Business Strategy - Club Transformation (Sam's Club)
Walmart, bentonville, ar, United States
Position Summary
Sam’s Club is building the future of intelligent, digitally powered clubs — and the Omni Club Transformation team sits at the center of that evolution. We’re looking for a seasoned Director‑level leader with strong product and business acumen who can step in quickly and accelerate our work on building a connected club platform.
In this role, you’ll partner deeply with Product, Tech, Finance, Real Estate, and multiple operational teams to create a multi‑signal environment which can be used across a multitude of member‑ and associate‑facing use cases. This work will also enable Sam’s Club to run complex simulations and transform how our clubs operate — from workforce optimization to smart shelf labeling. This is an opportunity to develop and influence strategy, present to senior leaders, and guide next‑generation approaches that directly reshape the member and associate experience.
This is a Bentonville‑based role (relocation required) for someone energized by ambiguity, complex problems, continuous innovation, and cross‑functional leadership.
What you’ll do
- Establish clear business problems and “size of prize” measurements that can be built through a multi‑signal approach.
- Build testing and simulations of new technologies, productivity scenarios, inventory measures, and operational changes.
- Partner with Product, Tech, Finance, and several other operational teams to align inputs, validate assumptions, and guide business decision‑making.
- Present clear, strategic insights and recommendations to senior leaders.
- Provide director‑level leadership, ensuring continuity of work, team clarity, and cross‑functional alignment.
- Use insights to shape how Sam’s Club designs and deploys large‑scale innovations, helping determine what “great” looks like through clear testing and measurement.
What you’ll bring
- Strong product and business leadership experience, with the ability to understand how digital solutions drive operational and member outcomes.
- Experience working with data‑informed or tech‑enabled products – comfortable navigating models, signals, and insights without needing to be overly technical.
- Proven Director‑level leadership, including managing teams, organizing workstreams, and driving clarity in complex environments.
- Exceptional communication and executive presence, able to simplify complexity and present strategy to senior leaders with confidence.
- Systems‑thinking skills – comfortable shaping assumptions, interpreting models, and translating operational needs into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated cross‑functional leadership, especially partnering across Product, Tech, Finance, Real Estate, and key operational teams.
- High ownership mindset and urgency, with the ability to step in quickly and deliver impact immediately.
