Associate Director of Major Gifts for Athletics

Overview

The United States Military Academy (USMA) is a premier leadership development institution located at West Point, NY. This position is housed within The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) and partnered with the Army West Point Athletic Association, Inc. (AWPAA). WPAOG’s mission is to Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line. The role supports WPAOG Athletics Development by growing athletic philanthropic efforts at USMA and increasing donor participation through engagement with alumni and supporters.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate, solicit, and steward mid- to high-level annual fund and sport-specific gifts as a member of the WPAOG Athletics Development team.
• Engage with alumni and supporters to increase donor participation and generosity for USMA athletics programs.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Athletic Director, Major & Sport Specific Giving, and colleagues to advance fundraising strategies and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, specifically within development/fundraising, required.
• Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range is approximately $67,600–$70,000, depending on skills and experience. WPAOG offers excellent benefits and a pleasant working environment. The incumbent must live within commuting distance of West Point.
