
Associate Director - Billing Office

Responsibilities and Duties
- System Analysis and Configuration: Acts as the PeopleSoft Student Financials module owner, providing system analysis, reviewing MOUs, determining tuition, fees and billing setups, and writing functional specifications. Configures high‑level business rules, tuition and fee calculation, charge priorities, payment allocation, system tree node structures, item types, GL mapping, refund processing, billing layouts, external file layouts, and Self‑Service pages.
- Security Administration and Access Control: Creates PeopleSoft roles and permissions, sets up Item Type Security, configures Service Indicator security, and manages security requests to ensure appropriate user access and audit compliance.
- Reporting: Develops complex queries, Crystal reports, databases and ODBC connections; produces reports for day‑to‑day business activity, legislative audits, and payment reconciliation.
- Leadership & Management: Supervises 3 exempt and 1 non‑exempt employees, oversees system set‑ups, modifications, and processing, directs customer associates and supervisors, and represents the Student and University Billing Office Director in committees.
- Committees and User Groups: Participates in eCommerce Marketplace User Group, PeopleSoft User Group, and PeopleSoft BioDemo Committee to support payment processing, system upgrades, and data access controls.
- Other Duties: Provides customer service and training, serves as a system expert for other departments, and collaborates with auditors on security and business process reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with five or more years of experience and supervising employees.
- Master’s degree preferred; higher education experience, Student Financials expertise in PeopleSoft, and third‑party vendor integration experience.
- Strong analytical, prioritization, and multi‑project management skills; ability to write functional specifications and use business process analysis.
- Experience with ecommerce solutions, reporting, and learning new technologies.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to adapt to new technologies.
