Job Title: Chief Campus Corporate / Foundation Relations Administrator

Working Title: Director Corporate & Foundation Relationships

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Division of Institutional Advancement advances philanthropy by engaging alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends (including the corporate community) to support the University’s mission. The office promotes NCCU’s image to external publics to solicit and acquire philanthropic support.

Primary Purpose of Position

North Carolina Central University Division of Institutional Advancement seeks an experienced team member to guide the Corporate & Foundation Relations platform. The Director will develop and execute a plan to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate and foundation prospects and donors, and implement grant strategies to meet or exceed goals and expand philanthropic support. The successful candidate will serve as the leading author for most grant proposals and build relationships with the corporate and foundation community in the Research Triangle area and beyond.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and secure compelling proposals, grants, and reports across multiple disciplines.
  • Five to seven years of grant management, institutional fundraising and corporate partnership experience, preferably in higher education. Ability to think strategically and creatively, work under pressure, and manage multiple projects. Experience using reporting tools, design software, and donor management software.
  • Proven track record in fostering professional relationships with corporate and foundation program officers and staff; portfolio management, prospect qualification, analytics, and research.
  • Self-starter with ethical, independent judgment. Able to work on teams to develop high-level proposals with cross-disciplinary funding opportunities.

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s preferred.
  • 7+ years of fundraising with a focus in Corporate and Foundation Relations.

Responsibilities and Duties

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward public and private corporations and regional
    ational foundations to secure gifts or grants for NCCU’s priorities and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely development, submission, and management of grant and sponsorship proposals, including event sponsorships for signature programs; track, acknowledge, steward, and report to institutional partners.
  • Directly manage a portfolio of 50-75 corporate and foundation funders, including key existing and prospective donors, to create cases for support.

Function: Coordination – Operations

  • Manage relationships with institutional supporters by providing updates, site visits, and meetings that advance these relationships.
  • Collaborate with administration, faculty, development officers, academic and athletic programs, research centers and institutes to increase philanthropic support.

Function: Administrative

  • Conduct prospect research and use donor management systems to track corporate and foundation donor information in Raiser's Edge, including data entry and analytic reporting.
  • Manage the corporate partners program to ensure active engagement and benefits for partners.
  • Directly manage a portfolio of corporations and foundations across NCCU programs and services.
