Job Description

Reporting to the Manager – Employee Relations and Compliance, the Employee Relations Business Partner – Retail Stores West will lead all employee relations investigations across our West U.S. store fleet and ensure our Vuori culture is thriving. You will contribute to building employee relations initiatives that focus on our retail store team members’ experience at Vuori. This position plays an integral role in the health and success of the organization by collaborating with key cross‑functional business leaders to identify, develop, and implement employee experience strategies that meet the needs of the business and ensure we are true to our values, including building great relationships. This includes developing a deep understanding of the business and our People and Culture strategy.

This role partners with our Retail Store leaders, our People and Culture team, and our Legal team to develop employee‑relations‑related strategies.

What you’ll get to do

  • Be a thought partner to Retail Stores leadership and team members and demonstrate success in assessing organizational health of our store fleet, with a focus on strengthening employee relations, coaching, performance management, and promoting engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.
  • Lead all employee relations investigations, engaging with People and Culture Business Partners as needed, and identifying trends and themes related to the organizational health of teams.
  • Diagnose opportunities, identify appropriate solutions, and build leadership capabilities regarding issues and concerns raised in the stores, delivering practical, efficient solutions that uphold Vuori’s commitment to its policies and values.
  • Prioritize effectively delivering results as both a strategic partner and a fully embedded Employee Relations subject‑matter expert with the store teams you support.
  • Investigate all inquiries that come through our Ethics Hotline and ensure the timely communication of issues to the appropriate partners across the business.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise to employees and leaders in the areas of employee relations, the employee handbook, Code of Conduct, and engagement strategy.
  • Work closely with People and Culture Business Partners – Retail Stores and Generalists to align with and support efforts to develop a high‑performing, highly engaged, diverse workforce through training, coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, partner with Vuori’s Legal Department as needed, and advise the business on appropriate actions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and fair, consistent application of Vuori policies.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to execute, implement, and manage employee relations issues and ensure they are consistent with Vuori’s directives, strategy, and policies.
  • Evaluate and analyze trends within the store employee population as it pertains to employee satisfaction, commitment, and overall engagement. Anticipate and advise stakeholders on the impact that strategic or operational decisions will have on employee relations, satisfaction, and morale – making recommendations to drive engagement, employee relations and communication.
  • In partnership with our People and Culture Business Partners, create and maintain effective communication plans to ensure the employee population is well informed of impactful changes, strategies, initiatives, etc., and maintain two‑way communication so leadership has a consistent and accurate assessment of the pulse of the employee population.
  • Role‑model Vuori’s culture, values, and behaviors amongst the teams you support.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of People & Culture initiatives.
  • Identify ways to utilize available data to most impactfully influence our store teams and business leaders.
  • Contribute to creating and implementing standards for recording employee relations issues and investigations.
  • Maintain and update People and Culture related policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook and communicate them to stores.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or employment law, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3+ years of Employee Relations Partner experience in dynamic, fast‑paced organizations.
  • PHR certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Extensive experience leading employee relations and performance management initiatives and strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and exercise excellent judgment.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in an evolving, fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Well organized, plans and prioritizes time according to what is most impactful.
  • Dependable and can be counted upon to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Strong consulting and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Strong interviewing/fact‑finding and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong conflict management skills with demonstrated understanding of interpersonal relationship building.
  • Proven success in developing strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Demonstrated competence in other HR disciplines including compensation, change management, talent management, organizational diagnosis and planning, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

The salary range for this role is $95,000 per year – $125,000 per year. This role is bonus eligible.
