Description
Plans and leads music for parish liturgies, directing smaller ensembles or specific Mass groups under general supervision.
Responsibilities
Plans, prepares and leads music for parish liturgies and special events, such as weddings, funeral, etc.
Directs choirs, trains cantors, plans cantor & accompanist schedule.
Selects music consistent with the liturgical calendar.
Coordinates with clergy in all aspects of the job.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music or equivalent experience required.
- Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and sacred music.
- Proficient in choral direction and keyboard or vocal performance. Skills in organ preferred.
