The Opportunity FOCO is seeking a Product Designer I – Seasonal & Holiday to support the design and development of licensed products tied to key seasonal moments including Christmas, Halloween, and other major retail events.
This role focuses on creating fun, trend-driven, high-volume consumer products that resonate with fans during peak selling seasons. You’ll help bring ideas to life across categories such as novelty items, décor, gifts, apparel accessories, and collectibles.
This is an ideal role for a junior designer who thrives on fast timelines, creativity, and seasonal storytelling.
What You’ll Do Seasonal Product Design: Assist in designing licensed seasonal products across Christmas, Halloween, and other key retail moments
Develop graphics, patterns, and themed concepts tied to sports teams and entertainment brands
Support creation of giftable, novelty, and impulse-driven products
Trend & Concept Development: Research trends across holiday, gifting, pop culture, and fan merchandise
Translate seasonal themes into commercially viable product ideas
Build mood boards, concept decks, and creative presentations
Product Development Support: Assist in creating tech packs including materials, specs, and construction details
Support sample reviews, revisions, and approvals
Ensure designs align with cost targets, margin goals, and production timelines
Licensing & Brand Execution: Design within licensor guidelines (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, NCAA, and entertainment brands)
Support artwork submissions and approval processes
Maintain brand consistency across seasonal programs
Vendor & Factory Collaboration: Support communication with overseas factories and internal teams
Assist in tracking samples and managing updates
Travel to manufacturing partners (Asia, Latin America, etc.) up to 10% to support development and production
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Development, Sales, Merchandising, and Licensing teams
Support key seasonal retail programs and custom opportunities
Assist in line reviews, presentations, and internal meetings
What You’ll Bring Required
Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related field
0–2 years of experience (internship or entry-level role)
Strong interest in seasonal products, gifting, novelty items, or consumer goods
Basic understanding of materials, construction, and product development
Strong organizational and communication skills
Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 10% (Asia, Latin America, etc.)
Required: Must provide a professional portfolio (URL or PDF) showcasing relevant design work (seasonal, product design, graphics, or concept development). Applications without a portfolio will NOT be considered.
Preferred
Experience or coursework related to seasonal, holiday, or giftable products
Exposure to licensed products or branded merchandise
Ability to create graphics, patterns, and themed concepts
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
