CW39-KIAH is a hyperlocal television station in Houston, and we're looking for a Reporter / Multimedia Journalist to join our newsroom.

We're seeking a strong communicator and self-starter who thrives on multi-platform storytelling and is passionate about producing original, unique content told in non-traditional ways.
This role is ideal for a journalist who takes initiative, thinks creatively, and understands how to shape stories differently for broadcast, digital, streaming, and social audiences.

What You\'ll Do
Create original, enterprise stories for multiple platforms, including broadcast, digital, and social
Pitch and develop story ideas that reflect Houston's diverse communities and perspectives
Operate as a self-starter, owning stories from concept through execution
Write, shoot, edit, and present content across platforms
Communicate clearly with producers and newsroom managers on story direction and goals
Experiment with creative, non-traditional storytelling approaches to better engage audiences
Ensure all content meets editorial standards and journalistic integrity guidelines
Contribute to digital and social coverage, including audience engagement
What We\'re Looking For
Bachelor\'s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field
At least three years of on-air reporting experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident on-air presence with the ability to ad-lib when needed
Self-starter who consistently generates original, multi-platform story ideas
Passion for creative, innovative, non-traditional storytelling
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects
Valid driver\'s license with a good driving record
Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, nights, and weekends
