This is a full-time internship designed for a current student or a recent graduate in Communications or a related field who is looking to build practical experience in corporate communications. In this role, you will support the Communications team with internal newsletters, social media coordination, presentation development, research, analytics, administrative support, and reporting within the rail and mobility industry.

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail. Our portfolio includes rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and services. We design and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rail vehicles including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and railroads rely on Siemens Mobility for traction power, electrification, signaling, and control technologies supporting freight and passenger rail operations.
What you will do
Support the coordination and management of internal newsletters, including content collection, scheduling, formatting, and distribution.
Maintain editorial calendars and track content inputs, approvals, and publishing timelines.
Assist with social media activities such as content coordination, scheduling, monitoring, and engagement tracking in line with corporate guidelines.
Collect, organize, and analyze communications metrics like newsletter open rates, social media engagement, and campaign performance.
Compile communications analytics and reporting for internal stakeholders using summaries, spreadsheets, dashboards, or presentations.
Format and update presentations for internal communications, leadership updates, and employee events.
Monitor North American communications inquiry inboxes and coordinate responses with internal partners.
Conduct research to support communications planning, campaigns, and content development.
Provide administrative support, including document organization, platform maintenance, and distribution list management.
Collaborate with Communications team members and cross-functional partners across North America.
Basic qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree program in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Relations, or a related field from an accredited college or university
Open to students working toward a degree as well as recent graduates or individuals with equivalent early career experience
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
Must reside near New York City, NY or Sacramento, CA
Preferred qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience through internships, part time roles, contract work, or academic projects related to communications, social media, or content coordination
Interest in social media, communications analytics, and presentation storytelling
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfort formatting presentations and visual content using Microsoft PowerPoint
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Interest in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications
You’ll benefit from
The hourly pay range for this position is $22 - $26 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
