Indirect Tax Manager Sales/Use Tax

The Indirect Tax team in our National Support Center (NSC) is looking for an Indirect Tax Manager - Sales/Use Tax at their Lafayette Hill, PA office. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days in office. Are you a leader with experience in sales/use tax accounting? Do you enjoy staying up to date with the latest tax laws and regulations? You will: Handle complex tax matters including overseeing tax audits and ensuring compliance with state and federal tax regulations. Collaborate closely with internal teams and external tax authorities, provide strategic tax planning, and support the organization in sales/use tax-related matters. Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of state and local tax sales/use tax returns. Identify, investigate, and resolve tax discrepancies and issues in tax reports from taxing authorities. Manage tax audits, serving as the main point of contact with taxing authorities and lead negotiating resolutions. Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation. Provide outstanding customer service to our Profit Centers by addressing tax questions from the field in a timely manner. Review monthly general ledger account reconciliations and related journal entries for tax accruals and payments. Develop and maintain tax-related training materials and documentation for internal teams. Research and respond to tax-related inquiries from internal departments and external stakeholders. Collaborate with external third-party firms on tax items and issues. Assist management with tax planning, strategy, and risk mitigation to minimize tax liabilities. Oversee the sales tax refund review process, identify potential refund within the company, and work with 3rd party providers to obtain refund. Assist in identification of process improvements to enhance and optimize tax functions and operations. Oversee use tax accruals and timely payment for sales tax discount recognition. Manage recruit, hire, develop and train a team of one or more sales/use tax professionals. Set clear performance expectations and goals for the sales/use team and conduct regular performance evaluations to assess progress and provide feedback. Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. About You:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA or CMI designation and/or advanced degree in taxation highly desirable. 5 or more years of tax experience, a combination of public and industry experience is preferred. 1 or more years of leadership experience. Be willing to make presentations and ability to educate others on complex tax issues. Be adaptable in a frequently changing, fast-paced environment. Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Have strong skills in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL statement structure a strong plus. Be able to add value to the organization beyond the tax arena. Be comfortable in digging into details but understands the "big picture."
