Position Salary Range: $20.40 per hour Arizona State University is seeking a student-focused professional to join University Registrar Services at the Downtown Phoenix campus as an Enrollment Specialist Sr. This role supports students with admissions, financial aid, registration, and academic records in a busy, student-facing environment. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, communicates clearly, and works well both independently and as part of a team while supporting a broad student population. This enrollment services position performs a variety of administrative, skilled, and technical work of a specialized nature and provides first-level supervision of enrollment services' office student workers. The work is highly precise and requires very strong attention to academic and financial aid details, with a focus on problem-solving and customer service. Individuals performing the job must be versatile, confident in decision-making, detail-oriented, socially-poised, and motivating team-builders. This position seeks to build positive and collaborative relationships with the university community, all while managing multiple priorities and acquiring ongoing skills and knowledge. Provide general information and convey university policies and procedures to students, faculty, staff and the general public in-person, by telephone and by e-mail. Manage front counter customer service, including training, supervising, and scheduling student workers and assisting in the training of staff. Work with the academic departments and colleges to resolve student support issues, especially related to registration records, financial aid files and Admissions questions. Evaluate, certify and process academic transactions; especially for non-routine and complex cases. Assist with registration transactions, including transaction/discrepancy research and resolution. Provide general counsel to students regarding financial aid eligibility, application procedures for aid programs, assist students learning to navigate MyASU. Create documents, correspondence and maintain an online personal calendar. Participate in cross-training of diverse activities to assist in peak processing times. Coordinate and participate in special projects, committees, and reports. Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA. Experience with providing positive and enthusiastic customer service in a team environment and in a high-volume service location. Experience in retrieving and updating information in a student information system (i.e., PeopleSoft); Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience in resolving complex issues and researching non-routine inquiries received by students, faculty, staff and University departments and advising units. Demonstrated knowledge of University enrollment and/or financial aid policies and procedures. Evidence of ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions. Experience with CRM systems, (i.e., Salesforce). Ability to thrive under high-paced, high-traffic environment. Ability to navigate between factual, precise work and more complex, unanticipated situations. Working Environment: Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office remains open during academic breaks, with the exception of dates listed on the ASU Holiday Schedule.
